Fixed point: oil


Here you see the church of Punto Fijo, in Northern Coro. There you see the Bolívar statue. Bolívar was our little Napoleon and he was more obsessed than this one to be seen as "The Liberator". This has left us one of the weirdest political religions on Earth (forget Atatürk).

Anyway: Punto Fijo (literally Fixed Point) was founded because of oil: it has one of the largest oil refineries worldwide...although I am not sure what its actual production is now in the times of Chávez. Perhaps Setty knows?
